Nocturnal nausea

I've just hit 37 weeks but seem to be waking up every night with horrendous heartburn/reflux around 01:30 that makes me want to vomit. Rennie's aren't touching it. Doesn't seem to matter how little I've had for my dinner or really what time I've eaten. Propping myself up helps a little bit but it still comes in waves of nausea especially when Bean is wriggling. Any tips? The prospect of 3 to 5 weeks of this is horrendous 😞

I’ve had this. Was just asleep and woke up to being sick! 🤢 rang midwife line, no other symptoms, just at that point where there is no space! I’m 35+5 x

Try asking your midwife/GP for lansoprazole/omeprazole. Or try liquid gaviscon. I also find lying on your left side helps, as the way our stomachs lie it blocks off the acid from coming up

I have found liquid indigestion stuff works much better than rennie’s, same as when I had my first! If you can get some of that to try

Omoprazole is the only thing that works for me x

I agree with others I have to take omeprazole daily nothing else does anything. You can try a glass of milk for short term relief but in my opinion rennies and gaviscon are rubbish 😬

I found the gaviscon double action liquid works much better than the chewie ones or rennies! I have some before bed and havent woken with that lava feeling in the night for a while now

Eat a meal lower in fat, nothing spicy, leave a few hours after eating before laying down and when you do lay down prop yourself up and lay on your left side though to be completely honest all of that hasn’t helped me much lol I’ve tried various antacids (Rennies do nothing for me!), gavisgon liquid is slightly better but doesn’t stop it. Best I’ve found is the gavisgon double action tablets. For some reason they work better than the liquid. For me milk, cheese or any dairy makes it far worse too.
