Learning 16 month old

My son is really good at learning and remembering things. Amazing at counting, ABC and shapes. How are we teaching colours? I feel like he is confused when I say colours, e.g. he knows an apple is an apple but when i say ‘ red apple’ he looks at me like, no it’s just an apple 😂 just one example but how are we teaching this?

16 months is very young for him to be learning colours confidently so don’t stress yourself too much with it, it will come with time. Just keep repeating the colours as you are and describing the colours of things he will eventually pick it up❤️ xx

@Chloe thank you! I was at a playgroup the other day and a girl was 18 months and was so bright when it came to colours! Literally naming all coloured blocks and I said to her mum like wow your daughter is amazing hahaha. My son counts to 20 loves the alphabet etc so I felt like maybe I was focusing too much on those things because I know he is good at it rather than other stuff. I guess all are just very different! X

My little girl is the same with counting and abc, amazing with her words. We haven’t put the two together like you’re saying “red apple” but instead just picking up something that is red and showing her and she says the colour name.

Thats amazing what a bright boy well done mama! How are you teaching him the abc and numbers? Any tips
