Inducing labour

Has anyone started anything that helps soften the cervix or promote cervical dilation etc. Anything like raspberry leaf tea, dates etc. Is it too early to start these as I’ll be 35 weeks on Tuesday?

I started raspberry leaf tea at 35 weeks - 1 cup a day. Now 36+4 and having 2 cups a day. Will increase to 3 cups a day from 37 weeks x

@Natasha thank you! I’m wanting to try these things but not induce labour I don’t want baby to come for another 2 weeks at least x

Raspberry leaf tea might cause some braxton hicks but isn’t something that’ll start labour - just check on the advice of whoever you buy from and they should tell you when it’s ‘okay’ to stay using. Perineal massage might be something to look at too.

I took raspberry leaf tea tablets. My labour was less then 5 hours from start to finish (including early labour and active labour) but might be coincidence ! This was second baby x

As above, raspberry leaf tea and dates aren’t for inducing labour but to shorten different stages when labour does begin x

I started raspberry red leaf tea at 32 weeks with 1 cup a day, now 35 weeks and on 2 cups a day and will up to 3 cups a day in a weeks time. Not starting dates until 36 weeks. I didnt find the tea caused me any braxton hicks or anything personally but they say if it does just stop taking it and wait a week or so.
