Really struggling with my daughter. She’s intermittently hitting her brother, whether it be a scratch to his face, a few whacks on his stomach etc, other times she’ll read him a book. She’s very sneaky with it and laughs. At my wits end, how do you respond? 😭😭
Been through it with my boy and his baby brother. They're best of friends now with the occasional pull, scratch and hit. What worked for us was alot of redirection ( of gentle hands, play nicely and saying love your brother like mommy and daddy love you. Give him cuddles and kisses on his cheek. ) We watched YouTube videos of toddlers kindly playing with their siblings. We also gave our toddler 1:1 time when baby is asleep and used that time to talk about their feelings about having a sibling. Also explains why it's good to play and love their sibling. It wasn't easy, I struggled for months with it but with time and understanding, she will start to play nicely with baby. It's hope this helps 🤗
Going through the same! He’s so loving to his 3 month old brother but in the next breath he’s squeezing his arm or hitting his stomach!
