How did you get rid of the dummy!

My boy is 3 and a half and I'm trying desperately to get rid 🙈 he doesn't use it too much in the day unless he's upset or wants to relax but he has got to have it for bed. How did you get rid of your little ones dummy? I fear the consequences of cold turkey, did you say santa took it or something 🙈

My parents did Santa for me and it worked for our daughter we just showed her pictures of paci mouth and told her the dentist said she can’t have it any more and she was fine cold turkey

I haven't letting her decide when she's ready. So far, it's worked during the day, just not bedtime

Most of his binkys got a hole in them from being chewed on and I noticed he didn’t like to use them after that. You can first try poking a hole in them. Otherwise when we were ready, we just told him we weren’t using them anymore. He was upset a couple nights but got used to it

Cold turkey. It was hard for a couple days but I wanted them to be done with it.

We took it away completely during the day and only used it for naps and then we cut holes in the pacifier so she’d think it was broke (she put her finger in it to block the holes and made it work 😅) one day the holes got too big so I explained that it was trash (she loves throwing trash away) so I said when she was ready she could throw it away and she did and got excited. It was a rough couple of nights but she adjusted quickly

Cut the tip off and he won’t like it anymore

My son just refused it at about 7 months and didn't want it again, so I just took it away. There is no need for any fairies or whatnot .

Our daughter lost them at 21 months and we said well we're not buying any more. By the time they showed up again a couple months later she no longer had any interest in them
