Sleep training

I went from co sleeping to him sleeping in his crib at about 11 months. It was a brutal transition. But we got it. He was then sleeping 9 pm-8:30 am and he’d nap 12:30-2:30 And that was perfectly fine with me. We had a couple late nights when he got sick recently which obviously pushed back wake time for both of us and now our schedule is screwed up. My son does not put himself to sleep. I have to rock him every time. Even then it takes hours. I can’t seem to figure this out and I’m beyond exhausted. I can’t do this anymore these late nights are killing me. It’s 1:07 AM and he just fell asleep. I’ve cried every day the last like 3 weeks. I need to wake him up in the morning so we can try adjusting the schedule but that leaves us both exhausted. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

:( How long will you let him cry it out in his crib?

Have you ever tried putting him in the car and driving to sleeep? We've had to do that when just too tired

@Chela I have. I was doing that for about 3 weeks straight for night and sleep. He’s getting bigger and harder to transfer from his car seat to the crib though. He’s 3 foot tall and 35 pounds and I’m only 5’3. I do that as a last result but would love to get to the point where he just goes to bed. He woke up at 8 AM so we’re going to rough it out. What time should we aim for nap?

Awww dang yah that's hard! When my boy won't sleep with my mom they lay and and watch a movie until he goes to sleep. He sleeps well after. I'd push nap as long as you can so he's super tired for nap and then cap it at 2 hours. Like maybe 1:30pm nap

1:30-3/3:30? And then bed at what? 9?

Or wind down starting earlier since bed takes a long time- so then you aren't up too late

@Chela okay thank you so so much

Good luck!! Also give another snack or pouch before bed to make sure not hungry
