I recently had norovirus at 36 weeks and was told by the midwife that not eating was fine, just eat a little when you can, but if I couldn’t keep even water down to ring triage . I would ring them, even if you just get some advice from them but without fluids to keep you hydrated, I would be surprised if they don’t want you in there for a drip & monitoring. Feel better soon xx
I had a similar gastro when I was 3 months pp with my first baby. I couldn’t keep water down either and I rapidly dehydrated and needed an ambulance so I suggest calling for medical assistance ASAP
Rest, sip fluids when you can and try eating something plain when you feel up to it. Only thing you can do is ride it out. Any concerns with baby’s movements, or any other pregnancy related concerns needs to be reported. Baby will still be taking everything it needs from you, even if you feel rotten!
Thank you everyone I ended up phoning triage they told me it can last up to 48 hours and to try sucking on ice cubs or have a lolly ice so am keeping my mouth moist then then see how I get on throughout today and if am no better or get worse to come in and they’ll test my urine to check am not dehydrated they asked about the babies movements I said she’s been moving around as normal which she has it’s not phased her but tbh as time has gone today i do feel a bit better i still feel sick but I’ve only vomited once today and I’ve been having just lolly ices so hopefully starting to get over the worst now🤞🏻xx
Glad you’re starting to feel a little better @Amy 🙌 I genuinely felt so unwell when I had norovirus, I spent 2 nights being sick every 30-60 minutes and it wiped me out for 3 full days. I think whilst pregnant you feel so much worse than you might otherwise because baby is literally taking whatever goodness you still have left, so there’s nothing left in the tank for you. Fingers crossed tomorrow is a better day 🤞 x
Hey, hope you're okay. I couldn't keep fluid down, they wanted me to wait a couple of days if it got better, it didn't so I had to go to triage and got put on a drip. Maybe call them to see x
