Split nights hell 🤯

We’ve had some sleeping issues the last 4-5 weeks and it seems we have 2 or 3 rubbish nights in a row (split nights, awake for 1.5-2 hours) and then my daughter will sleep through for about 4 nights, we think yay cracked it, and then no - right back in the shit! Previously she’s been waking up around 2am/3am but night before last we had midnight and then last night 11pm!!! Can’t handle it! We thought she was having too much nap time so we’ve been gradually cutting that down (she still has 1hr 20) but now her sleep is actually getting worse. Yesterday she had about 8.5 hours of sleep IN TOTAL. Any advice at all??? My husband and I are like zombies. We’ve been this way for weeks, it’s actually really affecting our health and our relationship tbh 😏 so hard right now!

We seem to be back to this stage also! Last night, woke at 2.30am and didn’t go back to sleep til 5am!! She had max 45 min nap yesterday so don’t think it’s the nap. I also have an almost 5 month old, so draining!! 🥴

Changes take up to 2 weeks to embed in body clock so maybe need to push for longer? How long is bed after nap and when is wake up? We are having issues with early rising which has been helped by still giving him 1h30 nap but doing it earlier and having longer before bed

@Ellie god it’s so tough isn’t it!! My daughter just woke up after a 45 min nap so I am going to be in a painful place this evening 😟😟 Don’t know how you’re riding this out with a baby on top but well done 👏🏻 x

If it’s the first time it’s happening then hopefully just a phase - either down to how tired she is or could be developmental. My daughter’s been having splits since she was about 8 months old and I just can’t get to the bottom of why…so kind of figured there isn’t really a reason for her! She’s starting to reduce them though. She only has 30-40 mins nap now. I think some even drop the nap completely at this age so you could always play around with much shorter naps if you think that’ll work. An earlier nap seems to work well with my daughter. Good luck!

@Charlotte yeah my little girl is due to wake up very soon! We’ve been having this issue on/off for months now. She got so much better and then again lately, we have maybe once/twice a week where we have a bad night. It doesn’t matter where her nap is in the day, how long for or whatever! Yes, very hard with a baby. If anything… he’s slept better than she has 🤣 xx

Yep we're having this too. She's never been the best sleeper and would usually wake at least twice. Recently she either sleeps through or one wake, or we have a horrendous split night. Last night she was up around midnight and then from about 4-6am! We then all woke up at 10.30 🤦🏽‍♀️ so no nap today and have to see how the night goes 🫠

@Stephanie we’ve started waking her at 7am regardless of how the night has gone, but she rarely sleeps til 7 if she sleeps through anyway (more like 6.30am). After nap time, bedtime is about 6.5/7 hours later.
