Why is my baby not sleeping :(

My baby will be 9 months on December 6th. He wakes up every 4 hours at least for a bottle and tosses and turns all night like he can’t get comfortable. I’m constantly feeling his stomach and back to make sure he’s not too hot or cold. We have a fan going for white noise but it’s not blowing directly on us. He also is such a light sleeper every time I move in bed I hear him move in his pack n play and almost wake up. Sometimes he will even wake up at like 3 am and stay awake for an hour. I have tried to give him water at night and lean him off of the milk but he knows it’s water and gets really mad until I give him milk. I have tried to just hush and rock him back to sleep but as soon as I lay him down he’s right back up and will not go to sleep until I give him milk. The ped has told me he needs to get weaned off the milk at night but I think he’s seriously hungry and it uncomfortable until he gets his milk. He gets 6 oz throughout the day but I only give him 4 oz at night. Please help us

And we keep the house around 70 degrees fahrenheit

At nine months they need way more than 6oz of breastmilk/formula throughout the day Mine is quite a bit older and wakes every two hours. Some kids just aren’t good sleeper

Hmmm what if you slowly water down the milk?? Just an idea 🤷 What was the peds reasoning for weaning him off milk at night? I’m curious to know Also my baby was a light sleeper too until I put him in his room Then he started sleeping through the night All my movements and pumping used to wake him 🫣

@Ciara we were offering 7 oz and he would never finish it so we went down to 6 oz bottles and a lot of the times he doesn’t even finish those

@Kailine she said he would sleep better if we weaned him off the night feeds. And that he shouldn’t have an appetite at all at night.

@Ciara he also eats every 3 hours during the day so about 5-6 feedings a day which is 30 oz

@Ciara well 30-36 oz but like I said sometimes he doesn’t finish his 6 oz so that’s a rough estimate. I feel like my pediatrician would’ve said something when I told her we give him 6 oz every feed if it was a problem

Baby might me teething and be in pain that could be the cause of the problem you can give the baby some ibuprofen for pain and he/she will go to sleep through the night

My first drank 8oz oz formula every 2 hours at night until 11months. I think you need another recommendation from a different pediatrician, they shouldn't be suggesting weaning off any milk until 1yo as that's their main source of nutrients

When you said 6oz throughout the day I read that as he gets a total of 6oz all day long. My apologies!

@Ciara ohhh heavens no 🤣🤣

Have you started solids yet? Also i agree with the teething comment, my baby started getting 3 new teeth on the top around that age

@Janel yes we started at 6 months and about a month ago we started really getting into it and doing breakfast lunch and dinner. But same teething makes sense because he has 2 new teeth on the bottom possibly more coming in.
