SMA Althera weird colour??

Just made up our first bottle of Althera in our Perfect Prep and it’s come out yellow and watery. Is this normal? I immediately dumped it out and fed her with her normal milk as I’m unsure!

Yeah it is I thought the same thing 😂😂 it doesn’t dissolve properly too normal

@Bella oh okay! It just really doesn’t look like milk 🤣🤣 so would you say feed it to baby?

They sick of will look a little clear but it normal as well I asked everybody hV,midwife,hospital,doctor xx

Yeah we were on it for a while it’s a funny clear/ yellowy colour and really greasy, have to scrub the bottles to get the residue off 🥲 x

Yep mine looks like that too!

@Kristy it’s all so so sticky 😂

Yes it’s normal but I do put half scoop of carobel in my baby milk as this althera sma formula is very thin and causes bad reflux for my girl. I noticed if I put freshly boiled water it gets very yellowish but if I wait it’s looks a bit better

It's supposed to look like that yes

@Anna give it to her I was so worried I stayed with family for the first week but she was fine x

It’s obviously 4 scopes to 4 ounces it say difference on tin but I talked to the hospital they said make it same way you make normal formula and really shake it up because the powder don’t dissolve as well as normal formula xx

Perfect thanks! And did the symptoms clear up? Ours has a spotty face and mucous poos

Yeah we also had to use carobel with it because it’s so thin they can bring it back up really easily. We were using it to try and fix his constipation but it didn’t work we had to move to SMA Alfamino which is broken down even further but did the trick

@Kristy did the doctor prescribe it or did you just have to buy it?

They prescribed it but I had issues getting it quick enough at the start so I did buy a couple of tins to put me on..we also found people giving unopened tins away free on baby bank pages on Facebook
