Sleep struggles 9 months

I know there have been lots of posts about this but we're really struggling with awful sleep. Baby used to nap fine and go down in the cot for bed, now he refuses the cot completely. The only way to get him to nap is to take him out in the pram and every bedtime is a long process of getting him sleepy enough that he'll fall asleep in our arms and then we can transfer him to cot. He's also waking up in the night and struggles to get back to sleep, more rocking until he's asleep. He used to sleep straight through. He's been ill with various colds over the past few weeks so I know that will have an impact but this is really really hard. I don't know what to do, is anyone going through the same and has any tips? I've tried cry it out and that just makes it 10 times worse.

Unfortunately you’ve just got to ride it out. I’ve just come out the other side of it. There going through the biggest learning development. It’s a lot for them xx

Just follow you routine as normal. Don’t change anything. When they wake up if you can’t get them to sleep in 20 minutes take them away from there sleeping place for 20 minutes then try again x

Its hardest regression we’ve had just constant wake ups! I feel like as soon as I close my eyes fall asleep shes crying again! It is really exhausting I feel you

We are on week 4, just as I was loosing hope and thinking it's going to be like this forever... my LO started sleeping better! he would refuse the cot and wouldn't sleep until I held him or he was on the bed. You just gotta stay consistent. I'm pregnant aswell and carrying him + no sleep wore me out the last few weeks. I'm just now catching up on my sleep. He's still not fully 100% back to normal but his naps have gotten better and sleeps with 1-3 wakes in night instead of every 20minutes. Remember, they're not trying to give you a hard time, they are having a hard time❤️‍🩹 going through a big development rn and also separation anxiety... probably teething too, also this weather makes them not well unfortunately too! So everything at once. It can last up to 6-8 weeks but it WILL get better, I promise!

Thanks everyone, really hoping it gets better soon and sounds like it will, fingers crossed.
