Sleeping on tummy

So my LO is 2 days shy of 8 months and can roll over to her tummy and back pretty well. She has recently started wanting to sleep on her stomach. I watch her like a hawk while she sleeps because I’m just sitting on the couch and I can see that she can lift her head fully off the bed and look the other way or flip back over. Would you continue to let her sleep this way or flip her back over?

I would continue to lay her on her back to sleep but then if she rolls to her tummy on her own she is fine to sleep like that ! That shows she is strong enough to move her head etc if she needs to!

Also remember now that she is rolling no more swaddling but sleep sacks are great!!

She’s fine is she can roll. Really happy we had the owlet when ours started rolling

Yes and sleep sacks! No swaddling

@Aspen she’s actually been a free sleeper with just her pajamas on since about 4 months ! She would always break out of her swaddles at that point to try and put her face against the pillow. And as we speak she’s flipping her head over so I guess she’s good!?

They say that once a baby is able to get themselves into a position, they're fine to sleep in that position, even on their tummy. They should always be put on their backs to start though. That doesn't mean we won't worry about them too!

@McKenna yes that’s how my daughter is too lol she does not like to be confined and likes to sleep with her little booty up in the air lol

My LO loooooves sleeping on her tummy!

My daughter is a wild sleeper she sleeps however she pleases especially since she crawls in her sleep also

My little guy LOVED sleeping on his belly from 6 mo on. Seriously a game changer for sleep! 🤍

If a baby can get in that position and out then they are perfectly okay is what I’ve always been told!
