My sleep has been awful! Well, some nights are ok, but usually I wake up loads and can't get back to sleep for ages, restless legs, heartburn, can't turn brain off 😩 Ah I didn't realise we were allowed antihistamines in pregnancy 🤔 I got put on iron tablets for my restless legs and they've helped a little bit I guess...
Not being able to sleep during pregnancy is definitely a lot worse than having no sleep when baby is here! I’ve not been able to sleep past 30 weeks with both my pregnancies. This time round is more exhausting as I have a toddler to run around after during the day 😩 I think it can be quite common especially during the last few weeks as baby is bigger, your more uncomfortable and your mind is racing but you can always talk to your midwife about it if you’re really concerned x
I have started using magnesium spray on my legs & feet every night for the past 4 nights and slept a lot better, I try not to have a drink of anything after 9.30pm ish, go for my last wee at 10.30 ish and put the spray on at this time, then I go to sleep around 11 and not woke up until 5.30AM when my partner gets up for work x
@Louise particular ones are allowed, chat to your midwife and they can get the right ones prescribed
I’ve had horrendous insomnia. Probably not slept more than 5 hours in a night for over a month and that’s maybe happened 3 times. Most nights I get between 2-3 hours, some absolutely nothing. I ended up in triage so uncomfortable and in a bit of a state and they have started me on piriton the antihistamine so see if that helps me get back into a sleep routine. I’ve only done last night and it was ok I’ve managed 4hours, still very broken but I’m in discomfort due to babies positioning. Going to try another tonight to see if that helps, they are happy to try me on stronger tablets with a sedating effect if the piriton doesn’t work. So definitely ask your midwife they can give you something
