My son was a late talker. What helped us was baby sign language and music therapy with, of course, a speech therapist.
Our therapist taught us sign language (there's heaps of YouTube), and as my son loves music, it just really helped him, and from then, going to preschool and school really helped interacting with his peers or more like copying them and understanding the social aspect of being social.
These are what worked for us there are many ways such as picture exchange Cards/planning boards etc but they didnt really work for us.
My son is 15 years old now so being this is 10+ years old and not happen like this but it's what helped us, and most days, it doesn't be quiet. You can tell he is slightly delayed, but he has come a long way.
