Vomiting in morning/night

Hello! My baby was born on 8th July. She has never been a sicky baby until now. The past couple of days she has projectile vomited her first feed of the day; yesterday morning she did it mid feed and then again while I was getting dressed (being on her back probably didn’t help). Also last night I fed her in the night and she woke up later and I realised she’d been sick everywhere in her bassinet. I’ve been trying to keep her upright for longer after her feeds, but this morning she projectile vomited on me while I was getting her dressed (I picked her up and she did it), and then later on I put her in a sling after she fed to keep her upright and she did it again, this time all over herself as well 😭 It seems to die down throughout the day (so far) and is worse in the mornings. I’m just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if I should be worried? One other thing I will mention is she has been quite snotty over the past few days so wondering whether that isn’t helping… Thanks in advance 🩷

My girl was vomiting every morning when she had a cold. I could tell it was because she was phlegmy and she’d been swallowing it all night in her sleep. As adults, our coughs and phlegm is always worse in the mornings. So I could tell this was why. This could be the same for you? But obviously I don’t know, as I’m not there. I would say trust your instincts and if you’re even a little bit worried, just get that doctors appointment! No question is a silly question, especially when it comes to such young babies.

My little girl was projectile vomiting long to long ago we ended up at the hospital because she was bringing up yellow/green bile they told us it was gastroenteritis and to just feed little and often to manage it luckily she was fine the day after we was at hospital

@Charlotte oh dear that must’ve been a bit of a worry :( thankfully she’s not bringing up bile, it’s just milk, but I will keep an eye!

@Joss I do wonder if it’s due to the snottiness. I’ve got some olbas oil for babies (well something similar) to try tonight to see if it helps clear her nose a bit for sleep! It makes me reluctant to feed her in the night though 😫

@Antonia I think if you’re feeling that anxious then go to the doctors just for a bit of peace of mind. It’ll make you feel sooo much better. I really understand how you feel though, my girl was sick in the night too in her cot and it was so scary
