Switched on

Is anyone else’s child incredibly switched on these days. We worked it out she knows over 100 words and can do things that Google says 2/3 year olds should know. You can tell her something once and she knows how to say it eg my partner showed her a turtle the next day she picks her turtle bath toy out and calls it by it’s name! I feel like I’ve gone from having my newborn to a full blown child in a month 😂

Waaw😍😍✌️

Yes mine too!!! She’s putting 5/6 words together to explain what she wants and knows about 150 words! She seems so smart and grown, especially because I have a two month old too🥹🥹🥹 x

@Jade it’s crazy isn’t it, I’m so proud of her but I feel like I’ve skipped having a young toddler. Even words she struggled to pronounce she’s starting to correct herself on she used to stay spidey for spider and doesn’t anymore breaks my heart 😂 I’m expecting again and not ready for how grown up she’s going to feel!!

Mine too!! He can count to 20 and sing the abc's clear as day! I can hold really basic conversations with him! This has been going on since he was about 16 months and each day it's just something new! I feel like they just grow up far too quickly! Xx

What do you think helped them to learn? I find it fascinating what they pick up!

They’re honestly so smart I swear!! Honestly overnight my baby 16 month old became a 16 month old adult😭🤣 but she’s an amazing big sister❤️ x

@Yog I can't lie, screentime is unlimited in my house. Whether that's something I'm watching or just background noise. I put on super simple songs and it has really helped my little boys speech. He doesn't sit in front of it a lot of the time it's on but he does listen to it and sing along to it all! Xx

@Symone we LOVE super simple songs and noodle and pals, their videos are great! When we allocate screen time these are our go tos! So educational and again our LO lives singing along and doing the actions, even the this is my happy face song our little one now does all the facial features to the feelings! Our little one too can speak way over 60+ words, as has recently started saying sentences too. Honestly it’s insane the things they remember, books we haven’t read for a few weeks (we rotate them) she remembers the words and actions to, and is saying or signing things before we’ve opened a flap or new page! I love watching them learn xx

This is so fascinating! I never put the tv (I’ve only owned one this year and haven’t got into the habit of using it yet!) on so I’ll make more of an effort. The programmes sound fun! My LG isn’t saying any words yet even though she’s always out and about meeting people, travelled to several countries etc and super sociable, I feel she’s a bit later but maybe because she’s bilingual? Who knows! I can’t wait to see which things she picks up first! ☺️

@Yog my daughter is also billingual. She understand almost everything we talk. Most of time we talk in our native language at home with her. She speak very few words such as muma, deda, shoes, teddy, fully and half word of bird, cow, goat, cat. I can say shd is also late in her speech. She is also very social and love to intract people. I think it is because of billingual and how many membee in the house, her dad work 6 days morning till night. So, she just with me 24/7. It also may have strong impact.

@Karuna I can draw a lot of parallels here, that’s reassuring! She sounds a true delight 😊
