Dropping bedtime feed

Has anyone done this yet and if so how did you go about it? Did you offer something else instead? Specifically looking for advice from breastfeeding mums - this is his only feed now

Naw. Not yet. I let him have his bed time one and just offer water through the day and during meals.

Probably too early, they cut down night feeding naturally around 18 months :) I let my eldest wean naturally and will do the same for 1 year old, did the if they don’t ask don’t offer approach x

My little boy stopped his night feeds around 11 months but was still having a bottle on waking and for bed until he was 12 months, he’s almost 14 now and he just has a bottle of oat milk (CMPA baby) before bed, sometimes he drinks the lot and sometimes he just had a few ounce. My HV at our 12 month review said to stop his night feeds and offer him a sip of water if he wakes during the night, that worked for us but everyone is different so do it when you feel you and baby are ready :) x

@Charlotte had he always taken oat milk? Our baby is also cmpa and can’t get him to drink any alternative milk - was wanting to offer that for bedtime but he just isn’t interested! X

@Beth yes, he’s always had it in things like Weetabix since we started weaning however he won’t drink it unless it’s warmed up! Have you tried that? We also introduced it gradually by mixing in with his formula for the first week :) X

@Charlotte yes he has it in his weetabix no problems - will try warming it up, he’s never taken milk from a bottle (even breast milk) so think that’s part of the problem x
