Dummy

Has anybody got rid of their babies dummy yet? We’re on night 2 of no dummy but I’m just wondering how long until she’s forgot about her dummy?

We did this last week. She was looking for something to suckle (🥺) on one nap only and since going cold turkey she’s not missed it. I’m glad we did it now when it’s easier as they can ask for it and cry when they don’t get it.

We’ve got rid of it for the exact same reason, hopefully easier now than when she’s older🙈 aw sounds like your little one adjusted quite well, so far our little one hasn’t done too bad but was definitely looking for something to suckle on too🙈🥺

How are you managing to get her to sleep without it?

I wanted to get rid of my LB as he just throws it across the room and out of pram now, sometimes it goes missing but his dad keep finding it and not wanting to thinking he still needs it. I know if got rid of it now he won’t be bothered about it after few days since still very young. From having two daughters before him I’ll say just get rid of it now if you want I promise they will forget about it after few days and find another comforter like a small teddy or blanket they like to hold. I’ve always stopped before they reached 2 years, my eldest (4 years) still tries to take her little brother dummy whenever she gets the chance she was very attached but my middle child (2 years) is fine and no issues

@CeeCee I gave her a muslin square and a soft bunny comforter so she had a choice of both. She took to the muslin square so I just keep going in to settle her when she’s crying by stroking her face with the muslin or just stroking her hair. If that doesn’t work I’ve had to rock her to sleep which I don’t normally do. I won’t lie her naps haven’t been as long as usual, I think she is waking up looking for the dummy. Surprisingly night times have been better, once she’s asleep she’s not been waking up like she used to when she couldn’t find her dummy, she’s been sleeping through.

@Rumbi Thanks for the advice, we’re on day 3 which has been the hardest day as she’s super grumpy from not napping for long but hoping she soon forgets about the dummy🤞🏼

@Erin thank you!!! Im scared but I might need to try lol
