Thank you! As you say harder said than done with the ‘not reacting’ and as you say she thinks it’s funny when I flinch. Will try to take a deep breath and unlatch the next time it happens. I really don’t want to stop b feeding but not sure how much more my nipples can take! X
I agree. My girl only does it when she’s teething. Teething medicine/nurafen overnight to save the nips!
Likely teething! Offer teething toys/ gel before a feed and gently unlatch when LO does bite. Try not to have any sudden reactions (hard I know because ouchhhhhh!) but it 1) can make it into an accidental game and 2) you can frighten them and they then develop a feeding aversion. I found after a few times of gently unlatching my LO learnt biting = no more milk. They don’t really understand it hurts you just that it feels nice for them! They can’t drink and bite so also worth watching like a hawk! I found LO did it when he’d finished drinking and wasn’t that hungry anymore. Good luck! x
