As long as it tastes good I don't think it matters. I honestly can not make good mashed potatoes no matter what I do so I'd probably buy them if I got assigned it

Oh i fully plan to tell people it’s home made… maybe that’s the crime 🤣

Throw in some melted butter and seasoning and put it in a new dish. No one will know!

Fully going to pack it in a nice ceramic dish and bring it over 🤣

Me PERSONALLY. If I’m hosting thanksgiving, I’d rather make the potatoes myself than someone bringing store bought. But that’s a me issue. My MIL does things like this and I’d rather just do it myself than her offer to help lol.

My grandma has been bringing the same bob Evan’s mashed potatoes to thanksgiving for like six years and everyone thinks she makes it from scratch and they tell her it’s amazing

Why it make its it’s Sunday night and thanksgiving isn’t until Thursday. Monday guy the ingredients. Wednesday evening make the food and refrigerate the mashed potato. Thursday reheat in the oven and enjoy

It’ll be delicious

@S. annalese my problem Is that i made a test run last week and they tasted like POOP, not enough salt or butter or Too chunky i don’t even know but there was no way i am going to spend all week learning which ingredient i need more of less of🤣 if this was something i was good at i would make them but i dont want to disappoint the people

I am all about convenience. Idc lol easy is better. No one will know the difference. And id eat the fuck out of those Costco potatoes too lmao

@Kelly oh okay. I mean do what floats your boat

That looks like the best “homemade” mash ever! Good job 👏 honestly it look like a chief has made it!🤣x

Girl how do you not know how to make mashed potatoes lmfao. What do you mean you did a test run and don’t have the time to figure it out, that part is crazy.

in the nicest way possible yes lol. it’s a bit annoying when you cook most of the food and ask guests to bring at least one thing and then they bring something store bought, especially if it’s an easy, non time consuming dish

@Allexys i know how to make them, they just aren’t good so id rather have them be good and buy them. I work full time, i dont cook, we do hello fresh for our meals and our baby gets little spoon, i rarely ever cook! But mashed potato’s were in our hello fresh recipe that i made last week and they were meh… so i make them they just aren’t good enough to bring and share and be proud of 🙃

Put it in a different bowl and call it a day lol. I’m 22 weeks pregnant also and I’m making a whole Thanksgiving meal and I’m regretting it! 😭😭

Costco mashed potatoes are delicious

It’s a crime I’m sorry lmao

I think they gave you the duty of bringing mashed potatoes because it’s probably One of the easiest things you could make. Me personally I would have not bought store bought mashed potatoes. Doesn’t take much effort, you won’t be on your feet long and in all honesty it’ll probably taste better.

Sometimes I love cooking and other times I hate it. It’s just potatoes. People will eat them. Not a crime.

I'm supposed to be bringing a pumpkin pie. I'm buying that shit on ebt and calling it good. I don't have the time or energy to be making it homemade. I say go for it

@Victoria~ that's my point with most things like this lol. I grew up with snobby family and friends that were all like "I'm not eating it unless it was made from scratch" but I can't tell you how many failed or subpar homemade dishes I've eaten. If you do baking from a box, it produces very consistent results and I really don't think people know the difference if you put them on a fancy plate. And don't get me wrong, I love a good homemade baked good or what not, and appreciate the time, effort, and skill, but like bro it ain't that deep sometimes.

The real crime is buying them 4 days in advance lmaoooo. I don’t measure my ingredients but sauté some garlic in a pan with 1/2-1 stick of butter(depending upon n the person and how much mash), add salt, pepper, adobo, Italian seasoning and whatever else you enjoy, add (boiled) potatoes and 1/2-1 cup of milk. Mash and mix and just keep doing taste tests until it’s right.

@Kelly this is hilarious 😂 I'd ask people if they liked my mash for added funny

@Korissa hahaha come on it has a “sell by” date of 11/29!!! Hopefully they are okay by thanksgiving 🤣
