Affordable * learning toys

How can I help my LO with alphabets and numbers? Is there anywhere people go in particular to find educational toys/books that aren’t expensive? What do you use and where do you shop from? X

We LOVE our leapfrog 100 words interactive book, my little one can speak over 60+ words now and this has helped MASSIVELY! She’s always been a quick learner and met milestones early but the amount of words she says daily from playing with this is great! We also love the Montessori busy books that have puzzles numbers colours and alphabets in, especially when our at restaurants or on the go, we do a lot of mirroring or counting as we do daily tasks like clipping the seat buckle of her table chair we say 1,2 and we do it, or putting her shoes and socks on or dressing we say 1, 2 and we ooo arms and legs in. With regards to alphabet and phonics I exaggerate things I say, like “A-Pple” as I give her food or at meals times I will say what’s in the plate and again exaggerate the words, when pointing to letters and words I show a picture or object, we focus more on words and letters of things she’s familiar with. We read a lot of books too xx
