@Hannah thank you so much for taking the time to comment She has a pillow and that did seem to make a small difference , she too is a huge wriggler though she moves 10000s of times a night!! I have considered a toddler bed but to be honest I've been a bit lazy as mindful if I do a toddler bed she'll need the furniture screwed to the wall etc and we're currently in the middle of other renos at home and also trying to get babies room done 🤯
Bedtime has been horrendous for us too!!! Definitely some sort of leap. His vocabulary has developed so much but bedtime is now taking 1+ hour where he’s trying to actively get out of bedtime. Also waking loads in night (he’s teething too!) it’s been fun 💀
Oh bless you. I completely get it. I had to changed cabinets from glass to acrylic, keep the hall completely clear all the time so if she gets out in the night she doesn’t trip. It’s another layer on this already exhausting relentless cake 😅 I am also pregnant (6 months) and my daughter is still coming into our bed so god knows what will happen once the baby is here 🙃 I’ve told my partner he might have to sleep in our campervan 😅
I’ve got 3 kids; my first was like this, my second was a bit better and the youngest is a great sleeper. The youngest is the only one we sleep trained which I know is controversial but when he was 9 month he was waking every hour and with three of them and a very long school run I decided I had to try something different as I didn’t feel safe driving for an hour on such little sleep especially with my boys on board. So we tried the pampers sleep coach app. You choose the level that you want to use - gentle through to more intensive sleep training. I started on gentle but moved up a level and he went from waking every night to sleeping through within 3/4 days and since 9 months he’s been a very good sleeper. He goes down at 7.30pm and sleeps through until 6am. I know lots of people don’t like it but having had 3 boys and only sleep training the third I wish I had done it with all three. I only needed the trial on the app so never paid for it.
This sounds exactly like my daughter! And she will not have my husband go in to see her, it has to be me or she’ll scream her little lungs out. It’s tough! Unfortunately I can’t offer any advice, but sometimes it helps to know you’re not the only one. My daughter has never slept through and is generally up 3-5 times as well. I feel I can manage on 2 wake ups but she hasn’t done that in a while. She’s also on one 1.5 hour nap and goes to sleep around 8pm. She’s always been a low sleep needs baby compared to others we know. Praying this changes soon for all of us! 🙏🏼
Is she in a cot or a bed? I had this issue with my toddler and when she moved into a toddler bed she started sleeping through. Not all the time mind. But way more often… I thought it could have just been that she’s a natural wriggler and needed the room. Introducing a pillow also worked wonders! If you’ve already done these things I am so sorry! Xx
