Middle Names of Girl Twins- I'm using my mother's name as one of the middle names...Do I have to do my mother-in-law's name for the other?

I obviously feel closer to my mother and want to honor her/ her name since it's not common anymore. I do not like my mother-in-law's name and it really doesn't work well as a middle name. Am I a terrible person? I figure they get my husband's last name so what's the big deal ...

You don’t have to do anything. What’s your mil’s name and what does your hubby think?!

My twin girls both have their grandmother's names My mums name "joy" ...great as a middle name nice and short My MIL "Jacqueline " not so great very long ahha

MILs name is Joanne. Right now I'm trying to compromise and do Anne which is my middle name and gives an ode to her name... My husband is flip flopping on that idea. I think bc he is closer to his mom than his dad.

What’s your mom’s name? I think if your husband wants you to honor his mom with the middle name you do it. No one really uses the middle name anyways so I think it’s a great compromise. Joanna for a first name would be one thing but I think it works for a middle or even Jo. I personally like it better than Anne.

What’s your mom’s name? Personally I think Jo or Anne could be a nice middle name (depending on the first name, of course). It’s totally possible to honor your MIL without using “Joanne” if you don’t care for the name. You could even use a derivative name like Joanna, Anna, Anne, Jana, or Jane! One of my cousins is named after both her grandmas. The name of our shared grandmother is Carol, and her first name is Caroline. So not the same name, but named in her honor 😊
