Talking

I’m just looking for some reassurance and advice. My LO is nearly 18 months old and is only saying Dada (doesn’t really know what it means) and occasionally mama but that’s it. He makes a variety of babbling sounds but no actual words. We have tried so hard to encourage but the more we try the more he seems to refuse. He seems to understand basic instructions like “come here” “no” etc. He will bring me items if he wants help and will express frustration or when he’s upset. Spoken to my HV who hasn’t been much help. Anyone else in the same position?

Same here! All we get is doggy, mama (if he’s sad and wants a cuddle) or dada (more gaga) but he points and shakes his head no and understands basic things like “come here” but no more words yet! He’s only just started walking at 17 months so I’m assuming he’s just a little later development wise, I’m sure they’ll get there xx

Same here my 18 month old only says mum when he is upset but can understand simple instructions but no other words also just hoping it clicks one day x
