As someone who spent 6 out of 9 months on admission for HG here is what worked

PREDNISOLONE 5mg + Prochlorperazine 5m steroid therapy changed my life. I was able to eat, drink and be around food without wanting to pass out or vomit. Hope this helps someone here

I’ve been on 40mg of prednisolone since week 8, now 35 weeks. It does help, it means I can keep fluid and some food down. Have you had any side effects from it? My consultant has been quite rude about it saying I will have permanent moon face from them…

Your consultant sounds like hell🫢 I had the moon face 🤣🤣. But i promise you it goes away. Mine went after i stopped it. But i know for some people it can take a little while. I think its just dependent on how quick your body gets rid of the remnants of steroids, but don't quote me. My lil one is 13months now. My face went back to normal by the time she turned a month. I also drank natural diuretic herbs to help with fluid retention in general. Raspberry leaf (only after baby unless you're using to help with labour) , Dandelion and nettle (can be taken while pregnant). All in moderation especially if breastfeeding.

Thanks, I think my face is just fat coz I’m pregnant, but hard to tell 🙈 yep she isn’t the best consultant 😆

Sorry this made me cackle like a witch😂. It’ll all drop off when baby drops. And please request for a new consultant I work with the NHS, you have a right to request for a new dr. If the current one is causing you stress.

So strange you’ve said that as I’ve literally just rang the secretary and asked for a different consultant/second opinion. Not getting my hopes up mind 🙈
