It does take 6 weeks for an anti depressant to kick in (other than making you sleepy) - i would say try it for 7 weeks. Religiously take it same time every day. If it doesnt work or you see really bad side effects after 2 weeks. Try another med. Like is extremely hard with or without kids but your life does not have to be boring. Decide what you really miss about your old life. Make a list. And then if you have child care, choose one day a week or month for youself to be yourself If you cant, find a way to modify it for kids . . . But also really think about if its even good for you. Some people miss the booze and partying. But thats not cool anyway. Other people miss the dinners and travels. Find your flow ❤️❤️❤️
Make sure you are eating a snack before you take your antidepressant. It is not going to make you feel better the first time you take it so you are going to have to take it for weeks before you can see whether it is helping you or not.
You are definitely experiencing ppd which is normal. I’m gonna give you a harsh reality. You are not giving your antidepressants amount of time to regulate your brain chemicals. Every thing you listed is a complete normal side effect. You have to push through those side effects to come out better on other side. If you don’t keep taking your antidepressants you will continue to struggle. For myself, I’ve been on Lexapro 10 mg before pregnancy and after pregnancy. It took a full month for my body regulate Lexapro and after that my life is ten times better.
Just to echo what everyone else said about antidepressants. But this is good because it means there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes they make you feel worse before better. So be aware of this and hang onto the hope that the rainbow is coming after the storm. Sending love in this difficult time x
Going thru the same thing mama, we got this! Hopefully this phase wont hold onto us too much longer. Praying for you!
