Hey so I breastfed till 8.5 months l, I gradually changed a feed to a bottle got to 3 bottles a day then I got the noravirus and it completely dried me up so he went on to formula full time luckily my LB took to it really well and isn't actually bothered about not getting boob anymore x
I’m worried about this too. My LO is EBF and hasn’t taken a bottle since she was 3 months. I’m too scared to try now but she’s 9 months. I won’t be going back to work until she is 14 months but it is very limiting for me atm
I'm waiting till she's 1yrs old... so I can give cows milk in bottle 🍼 instead of formula
I've been giving a regular bottle of formula since baby was quite young just to keep up the habit. When he goes to nursery he'll move to cows milk in the day. I'll play by ear whether to continue breastfeeding morning/night or move fully over
Waiting till i can give cows milk because I tried and tried a few times with formula and bottle and it didn’t work
I gradually moved to formula, going to just having milk from me first thing in the morning. 2 weeks ago i just stopped offering that morning feed and she wasn’t bothered at all. I’m so glad it wasn’t a difficult experience for us both!
i’ve been wondering this too! i think im going to wait it out until she’s 12 months and starts at nursery, she might naturally want me less so it’ll be easier!
I’ve been back two days a week since October and go back full time in January and have continued to breastfeed, I just pump with wearable breast pumps whilst at work at around the times he would usually feed and he drinks ebm whilst he is away from me. Once he turns 1 I plan to drop pumping and move him onto cows milk whilst he is away from me, but continue to feed in mornings and evenings until it feels right to stop. You don’t necessarily have to move away from breastfeeding just because you are going back to work full time, unless you want to of course or work a role where pumping would be difficult (although employers are supposed to try and make accommodations to allow you to do so as part of your return) x
