C section / induction
So I went in to be induced yesterday & was given the propess to soften my cervix, after a couple of hours I had a lot of contractions, the midwife said I was over contracting which they didn’t want, the pain got that bad I was throwing up & no painkillers seemed to be helping, she checked my cervix again & it was still closed & really far back so she took it out to give me a break from the contractions as she wanted them to slow down, I’ve not had anything in since but I’m having loads of contractions still & they didn’t want do it again as she said the same thing would probably happen, they mentioned to me about getting the rods put in or a c section. I’ve decided to have a c section now as I’ve been in so much pain but feel like I’ve let myself down😞 now just waiting to find out when il be having the c section but they reckon it will be tomorrow. I’m so scared. Anyone else had anything similar happen?
Not quite the same but similar ish with my first. I was induced, had the gel pessary and then after breaking my waters and putting me on the drip, I was over contracting. It was continually with no break, it was exhausting and really painful. I ended up having an epidural so I could rest and just let my body do its thing but in the end every time they turned up the hormone, babies heart rate dropped and I wasn’t dilating. After 48 hours I was fully effaced but hadn’t dilated beyond 2cm. After discussion I went in for an unplanned section. It was an ‘emergency’ but not a racing emergency, in fact it was really super chilled. I understand how you’re feeling, I went through a ‘why has my body failed me like this’ moment but honestly, it hasn’t, sometimes things just don’t work out, it’s why they say to be open minded and go with the flow during labour. If you’re going in tomorrow for a section, it will be really calm because it will be more like an elective than an emergency. x
