We started doing day time naps in the nursery, and I'd get them dressed in there to make the room smell and look familiar :)
What others have said, make sure they get used to being in their room. Daytime naps will help. We just transferred ours to her room about a month ago (at 10 months) and the first couple of nights she woke at midnight and again at 4 but once she was familiarized, she went back to her normal sleep schedule.
Get used to the room in daytime (we used to play and a bit and changed all of his nappies there) and also I made sure there was my scent on his sheets so I think the smell helped him to settle.
Risk of SIDS drops around 1 year, so most pediatricians recommend waiting until 1 year to transition baby to their own room. Just food for thought. Best of luck with whatever you choose 🖤
Have they spent much time in the room already? People said to me to make sure they're familiar with the room and also spend time in the crib outside of just sleeping so it's familiar to them. My daughter was changed in her room from birth and I often put her in the crib to do quick jobs or go to the toilet so it wasn't a brand new place to her, although I hadn't done this intentionally it was just handy 😅 We also started doing naps in her room a few weeks before making the move.
