Baby monitor

I’ve been wanting to get a baby monitor recently so I can get some things done when my LG goes down for naps or goes to sleep at night. She’s currently 7 weeks old but it feels like I’m having to keep watching over her as I’ve got nothing else to use to check up on her. Is 7 weeks too early to be leaving her alone with a monitor or if not what would people recommend?

No, it's not too early. It's handy i definitely recommend getting one I got one with my first and still use it now with my newborn

@Mera is there a certain one you recommend?

It’s advised that babies should sleep including naps in the same room as you for the first 6 months. I know it’s hard when you’ve got things to do though!

Mine naps on me or downstairs in the day but I put him to bed before I go and use a monitor. Just sound atm because of the position of his next to me but when he moves to his crib I'll use a video one. He's my second so I'm comfortable doing this. I recommend a video one so that when she is bigger you can see what she's up to when you're not sleeping in the room with her anymore, checking if she has settled to sleep etc.

Lullaby trust guidelines say they should be in the same room as you for all sleep including daytime naps. So I'd say personally yes it's too early. You can bring moses basket from room to room, wear baby in carrier for naps whilst doing stuff
