PCOS acne! UK

Girls in the UK, what do you use to help with acne? The week before my period it’s hell on my face. I also have severe OCD so I pick my skin like crazy. 🙃💀 my skin is awful and it makes me look awful I need something to take the redness away and sores.

I have a hard time leaving my face alone too! But then I started to freak out, realizing my kids were starting to mimick me. If I was looking in the mirror and picking/squeezing? They would start doing it. That was a big motivation to get better at leaving my face alone! 2nd I learned that my cleaning regime was a bit too harsh for my face. I was using alcohol wipes and then a scent free lotion for rehydration. But it wasn't something I could do daily, or my skin would react and break out more. So I just fell into wiping my face with my leftover baby wipes! It seems to work much better at keeping break out small and over quickly. (Caveat: I don't and have basically never worn makeup. I just really don't like putting stuff on my face!)

@Bethany this is the thing, I don’t even use any products on my face and I don’t even wear makeup and my skin still gets so bad 🥲 but for similar reasons, I don’t want my little boy doing it when he’s older x

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one! It both helps and hinders a bit, that my husband has me checking his back for any acne spots. He wears heavy body armor and it can be a painful spot, so it's necessary to do it. But I learned that I needed to back off all acne messing if and when possible! It's a bit addictive personally, because I had done it for years. It was a coping mechanism for my anxiety and I have had to purposely create others. Now I only check his back on request, or if I see something there. (Also I'll admit another thing is winning the trust of my family. I can't see anything on them and not want to pop it. But having my child scared of showing me her boo-boos was another motivation. I love her and I value her trust.)
