If you have a recliner chair I would sleep there for a few days. Be easier to get in and out of. Or prop yourself up in bed and not lie down flat. Make sure you use your arms and legs and not your core.

Roll onto your side, swing legs one by one over the edge of bed and then use your arms to push your upper body upright. You can use a pillow to brace your abdomen for standing. This is what worked for me and I’m three weeks post c section

Just take it slowly. I found it easier dropping my legs out of bed first and slowly pulling myself up or having someone to support you to lift you up. The first night home I propped myself up in bed as I found it more comfortable than laying down flat and was easier to get out of bed in a morning xx

Log roll method to get out of bed. Also there’s a bedsheet knot method as well.

Definitely go on your side, put legs down then push your top half of your body up with your arms. I stayed on the sofa for 2 weeks as I could use the arm of the sofa to help me up x

I had to go very slowly onto my side and then push up to sit slowly and use either the wall or something to help me then stand. It does get easier before you know it, the first few nights when you’re figuring it are always the worst, just take it as slow as possible x

I slept in a recliner for maybe two weeks because it was so much easier. One thing that did help with getting up was putting a wooden kitchen chair by the bed so I could press into it for support while standing.

If you have a step stool put that next to the bed. It helped me a ton for getting in and out. I slept in a recliner the first week as well and then used my pregnancy to sleep upright in bed

Buy the bed rail after surgery supporter which helps to get up and down. I am in my 4th week post c-section and it has been immensely helpful. The pressure is not on your abdomen and goes on the hand holding the bed rail supporter. Link is below (look for something similar): https://a.co/d/3KXkc5x Or similar. It has been a blessing for me!

I slept in my couch. Pushing on The arm rest helped me get up… I didn’t sleep in my bed for the first 4-5 days

I was told to stay out of bed and keep mobile. The longer you stay immobile, the harder it gets. Day 2 is the hardest as the theatre drugs wear off, but get on top of your meds and take them like clockwork to start your pain management. Keep hydrated, keep taking the drugs, stay mobile little and often and tomorrow will be much easier xx

I was rolling in the side, then legs out of the bed, I was holding the side of my bed and pull with 1hand my body with my other hand pushing on the bed Then I was sitting on the bed If you can’t hold the side of the bed, maybe put something like a heavy chair, or a console or anything that can help you to sit on your bed with pushing on your arms only 🤔 (don’t push any furniture yourself, dangerous , ask for help, a neighbor, family, friend..) Big luck to you, it really get better day by day very quickly : the more you move the better you get !

I feel for you. I didn't go home until day 6, but I was discharged on day 4. My son had to stay in the nicu, so I stayed in a room on the floor to be with him. It definitely takes time, rest, and for me personally - pain meds. Take your time, use a pillow, and hold it in front of you when you stand up, cough, or sneeze. Also, roll onto your side before sitting up to try and make it easier on your incision spot. Hope you feel better!!

I slept in the sofa for the first four months so I didn’t lie down. Helped with night feeds too as I did them alone and it’s easier tandem feeding sat up

Roll to your side slowly and the have your feet off the bed and slowly push up.

Tie a sheet to the bottom of your bed and use it to pull yourself up and to the side

Roll onto your side, legs off the bed and use your arms to push yourself up so use as little core as you can
