Possible emergency c section

I've been in the hospital for 2 weeks now for monitoring and tonight has taken a big turn. We're talking about possibly delivering baby via c section tonight/today. I don't know anyone who's had a c section. Can someone who's had one before explain what it felt like? There's a chance I might be knocked out and a chance they'd be able to give me the shot so I can stay awake. The problem with staying awake is I have ptsd regarding drugs and freak out when my body feels unnatural. The doctors say all you'll feel is pressure but that could mean a lot of things. Thanks in advance!

I had an emergent c-section and it was wonderful. My doctor was amazing. My baby came out perfect. I would say with the spinal injection (that’s where you don’t get knock out) the key for me was I was somehow able to be super relaxed and it went really well. They will tell you to sit slouching over and someone will be standing there holding onto you and they put the injection in your back. It is scary but have someone breathed and count with you/ distract you and you will do just fine.
