How late Is too late to ask for a section

Hey mama’s I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant and I want a c-section. I’m just wondering if I’ve left it too late to ask for one? I’m also wondering if anyone knows how many weeks they do a section from? :)

It’s never too late to ask for what you want. Just be sure to mention it to your midwife asap as they need to book you a consultant appointment. Usually elective c-sections are booked for 39 weeks or as close then as possible depending on their surgery schedules

I was given the option of a c-section & have been given an appointment at 34 weeks to make my decision. I've been told it would be done at 39 weeks xx

I didn't ask for mine until I was 36 weeks along. I had my c section at 39 weeks.

Not sure how quickly you need to tell them, but I’d mention it to your midwife asap. Even though baby is classed as full term from 37 weeks, they usually do sections from 38 weeks but it also depends on the reason why you’d want one x

I requested one when I had my sweep at 40+3, said that if she hadn’t come in her own by 41 weeks I wanted a c section. I was down the hospital that night chatting with the consultant, in the next day for pre op and then booked for it at 41 weeks ☺️

Mention it asap but you can change your mind at any point you are in charge!

I asked for mine at 38 weeks and had it at 40+3 xx

My midwife said we don’t start discussing birth plan until 34 weeks so I think you have plenty of time!

Not too late. I've known I'm having a C-section since around 19 weeks but I haven't actually got my appointment to discuss and book it in until nearly 32 weeks (and I think this can be later depending on trust and circumstances). It will be planned for my 39th week of pregnancy.

I was told it’s only too late when they can see the head xx

They usually have them booked in between 32-36 weeks x

Asked for mine at 36 weeks you can ask at any point but farther in advance you ask the better prepared everyone is! X

I asked for one in the hospital while in labor.

I transferred my care at 32 weeks and it wasn’t an issue to get a section.

No it’s never too late to ask and usually at 30 ish weeks you should have a midwife appointment to discuss your options on what you want to do so when you talk to her/him they will tell you all of the details about it

I wasn't asked what my plan was until like 32 weeks so you have time to decide

Never to late to ask for one x

Definitely not too late, I asked for mine at 36 weeks and had it at 38+5 although I had been asking since 34 weeks, they were crap at organising it until I had my 36 week consultant appointment x
