Walking after CSection

Hey, I'm 8 days PP after my elective CSection and I was wondering if it would be okay to go for a short walk to my local High Street (about 15mins - so no more than an hour, there and back and looking round the shops) - Would this be too much, I don't want to over exert myself but I really want to get out the house and get us some air and I have some minor errands to run, also will be pushing a double Pram with new baby and my 2yr old - Thanks for any advice 😊

If you feel able to then go for it. Could always take a seat somewhere if it gets too much or come back earlier. I’ve read that recovery is generally quicker the more active you are. But also don’t want to push it too much. Personally I could only manage a 10 min walk 7days pp I am now 26days pp and did about an hour walk. Make sure you keep up with pain meds

If you feel up to it then do it 😊 just take it slowly and give yourself time for breaks x

@Rachel thank you, I haven't even attempted so may be the same as you but I feel like I'm recovering quite quickly this time round and feel like I may be okay - Thanks your advice 🥰

@Katie yes 100% just a slow walk, thank you 🥰

I was walking the block about 5 days post C-section and multiple blocks by 2 weeks post section and I am sure that and eating well helped me feel pretty much back to normal by 4 weeks post. I am now 9 weeks post section and feel completely normal

If you’re going on your own, be mindful that you’ll have to lift your 2 year old in and out the pram which I’d struggle with more than the walk

I went out for a coffee and walk 9 day pp just take it slow and don’t over do it. You know your limits x

@Amanda yes I agree, I'm also fairly active and have been back to my normal day-to-day routine pretty much since day 3 and I feel my recovery is moving so quick

@Marina thanks for your concern but I'll be getting my Husband to help lift her in and out when we leave and get back home, she loves being in the Pram so won't be a problem whilst I'm out with her alone 🥰

@Karly thanks ❤️

I would say just go with how you feel, I had an emergency c-section and was out of bed walking around 12 hours later to care for my baby. I was back and forth to the hospital for checkups the days after returning home and within a week felt far stronger and was pretty much back to normal (obviously within reason to make sure I didn’t damage my scar) but I’m now 4 weeks pp with my cut healing very well, no pain and all normal activity. Just do what’s right for you, everyone’s recovery is diff 🩷 if you feel you need to get out, do what you have to do, your mental health is just as important xxxxx

@Ellise 100% agree - Thank you xx
