Holiday

When did you go on holiday abroad with your little one, I wanna take my little girl abroad she is currently a month old, I’m thinking of taking her like August or September time so she will be 9/ 10 months old? I’m really debating it as I’m not sure if it’s too soon or not but I want her to experience going abroad?

I took my son to Gran Canaria when he was 9 months old and it was so sooo nice I’d deffo say do it at that age. My boy was just learning to crawl so couldn’t get about much which was dreamy ha x

First baby was 3 months, second baby was 10 months. The younger they are the easier it is! X

What did u take with you etc, like I’ll be so worried if I forgot something x

I breastfed so didn’t have to worry about milk luckily but other than that just nappies, wipes and toys/books for the plane, bibs and clothes! Was more simple than I thought. We went away just last month (he’s 22 months now) and that was trickier for sure lol so agree with Caroline younger they are the easier it is xx

We first went at 10 weeks old. It’s definitely easier before 6 months! I wouldn’t take a baby in August though, it’s too hot

The younger the better, I did 5.5 months and 7.5 months and the difference in even those 2 months was big (and harder)

@Ashleigh take all your normal day to day bits for baby and don’t worry if you forget something or run out of nappies etc the shops sell literally everything for a baby over there x

Would taking her around September time be okay she will be 10 months old, and I’m just worried I’ll forget something but thank you for letting me know that they will have things I need x

We went to Jamaica when youngest was 9 weeks old. So easy. My eldest was 9 months when we went on her first holiday and it’s so much easier when they are younger

9/10 months is great. We started travelling long haul again when our girl was 9 weeks old. The sooner they travel the better, never too soon.

I took my daughter to South Africa from the uk at 5 months and other than her ears hurting on take off we had no issues! X

I took my first when she was 4 months old and then again when she was 10 months old. She was fab and it’s honestly easier than you think! I have 2 now and honestly the only thing putting me off is baggage allowance as I only just managed with 1 baby!

I took my little girl on her first holiday to Cyprus at 2 months old, it was so easy. This years holiday will be her 6th and she’s only 2, but it’s definitely easier when they’re younger!!

They’re so much easier when young . We went in August when he was 4 months

We did 3 long haul flights 3-9mths. It’s the easiest time to travel!!! We waited till LO had been fully vaccinated

We did a 6hr flight to Cape Verde at 6mths

First took my son at around 9 months, was perfect. Would do again, would go sooner or the same. I love taking him away x

Something nobody told me was how hard it could be on a baby to travel. I had just gotten into a good routine with sleep, eating, daily life, etc and then I went on a 14hr drive to visit my sister and it completely screwed everything up. Took like a month to get back to *somewhat* normality. Seems like everybody else seems differently but every baby is different soooo just keep that in mind 😅

Definitely go before they start walking , the planes a whole different experience with a toddler.

We took our girl away when she was 11 months old and she loved it, she also then went away at 16 months for 2 weeks and it was a total different experience again and we loved it even more. Do it! You won’t regret it 🥰

We came back from holiday a few weeks ago. Baby turned 8 months our first full day. We did Egypt, but Aug/Sept may be very hot depending on where you're planning on going. It was ~28°c when we went, we kept her in the shade or the pool and there was usually a nice cool breeze, and naps were in her buggy with a snoozeshade over which kept the temperature down inside. It will really depend on how active baby is too, our LG started crawling and pulling to stand a little before we went so she spent the plane travel trying to climb up us (she was pretty good and didn't scream or cry though) and being fidgety. We also didn't feel comfortable letting her crawl on the floor anywhere so it limited her a bit right when she's mobile. If baby is in their 'static' stage of sitting happily but not crawling then it'll be alot easier. Nurse/feed on take off and landing, research the hotel and their offerings (our hotel had cribs but the reviews suggested they often had to be brought up after and not in there ready and...

That the bars were too far apart so we packed a travel cot), and at 9/10 months they'll probably be eating more solids so if you're planning blw test all the allergens before so you're not worrying about that, if you're planning traditional/puree weaning then you'll probably have to pack the food. Also, one thing to consider is if the temperature is high you'll pack thin/light clothes... but overnight you'll probably have the air-conditioning on so pack thicker/warmer sleeping clothes for baby. I know how cold my partner likes the aircon at night so I came prepared with long sleeves and thicker sleepsuits haha.

Mine was 9 months first time abroad when we went to Greece, it was a great age! Went to Cyprus when he was about 21 months and was also great but a lot more running around after him haha! X

I took my lo at 4 months to Egypt and I’m currently back in Eygpt and he’s 1 best thing I did the smaller the easier xx

Before 6 months is a lot easier but I’d consider going in may/June I took my son away in August to turkey it was way too hot I had fans & a snooze shade but it was still a struggle xx
