Mine just sat at one at playgroup is there a children's centre nearby where you can try it out? He loved climbing onto the chair himself and sat to draw nicely for 2 mins but then he tried to climb onto the table and wanted to crawl on all the crayons and paints 🫨🫨🫨🫨 so he's absolutely not ready yet!
@Alex see this is what I’m worried about! She sits on one at nursery but they have the straps to keep her sat. She’s just so hectic with her toys all the time. I was hoping having somewhere she could sit and just do one thing at a time might help
Just to add, my boy looks calm in that photo but he is wild 🤣 he will only sit right at the table for a few minutes and only if I'm with him. I wouldn't be able to do crayons or paint at the table with him yet as it would be destroyed in a few seconds! For snack I pull the chair right up so he can't really get out and the desire to eat the snack keeps him sat down! If we do something like messy play he just stands around the table and I supervise. He likes to just sit down in the chair in the middle of the room too, not just at the table
@Emma thankyouu! The table looks great! Not sure that’ll be much use for my wild child then 😂
I have a 4 year old too so we have a kids table and chairs set and both my girls now use it. She occasionally tries to stand on a chair but more often than not sits nicely and draws with her sister
We have a pink one from Smyths. Tbh my girl doesn’t use it loads but she will sit at it if I put her there and give her a snack or something
We have had a table and chair for a few months and he loves it, I'd definitely recommend. We got the IKEA flisat table and the flisat stool then swapped the legs over so that the table is low enough. We don't use the stool but will be able to when he's older and needs the table taller. His chair is also tiny and he easily gets in and out of it himself. He sits at the little table to eat his snack, sits or stands to play with his toys at the table and we do messy/sensory play in the trays.
