PPD symptoms?

What do symptoms of PPD look and feel like? I’m also a FTM so I’m unsure of what’s normal. I’m a week out from having my baby and at first I felt great, but now I’m starting to struggle. My baby is also in the NICU with some complications, and it’s estimated she won’t be home for another 2 weeks or more. Idk if that is affecting me or it’s PPD.

For the first two weeks, I was convinced I had PPD. But ends up, it was the baby blues and it went away. I think that hormone crash plus NICU stress would put any of us into a tough mental state. PPD lasts longer than two weeks and is less a crushing anxiety and restlessness and more of a hopelessness I think?

@Rachael Yeah, I also was wondering if it possibly could be the baby blues. That’s my hope, anyways. And yeah, not having my baby with me is a lot. I will say, it’s less anxiety and more “doom and gloom” but that might be because of some of the possible diagnosis’s we’re dealing with.
