Am I irrational for being upset when people ignore when my toddler is trying to talk to them?

Today at school my 3yo daughter was excited to see one of her teachers was back and walked up to her and said hi to her. Granted she was talking to another teacher but she completely ignored her presence as well. It hurt me because I know she gets sad when it happens

When we’re walking down the street and my toddler waves at someone and they just stare it fuels anger I didn’t even know I had lol

I’ve had people give my 1 year old evil looks when she’s waved at them on the bus… teacher is different as I’m assuming she likes kids but perhaps she was busy and stressed, bare in mind that it’s a long day for teachers…they deserve to get paid way more than they do get for what they deal with in a day! Perhaps she didn’t mean to be rude and just having one of those days x

@Olivia same...I had to walk out today to not say something

Completely understand you.

@Chloe true, I tried to justify it in my head, it just hurts my feelings knowing it's hurting hers

Yea typically u wouldnt ignore an adult saying hi so why ignore a toddler? It bothers me too

I agree with above. Ignoring them is foul. I love interacting with kids who speak to me first! It’s always sweet and funny. like of course I’ll high five your sticky hands!! Are you kidding?? Rock on kid.

@Victoria~ literally not even a "one second, I'm talking to so and so"

@Liv too cute! Love people like you. For me especially nowadays want those little people to feel seen and heard

@Lena thank you 🥹 didn't know if that made me one of those annoying moms

Yeah. I think it’s rude.

I don’t see anything wrong with ignoring someone who interrupts someone else (like this situation) but I’d acknowledge them when there’s a pause in the first conversation. Ignoring regular communication is rude though as is not waving back.

I get really annoyed by it and I tend to think of something to say to make them feel like the ass they are
