Sleep

You guys.. my daughter used to LOVE sleeping. She used to jump out of our arms to get into her bed quicker. For the past couple months she SCREAMS bloody murder when we put her in her crib. And she will scream and cry for hours. Our pediatrician told us it could just be separation anxiety and that’s she’s okay to cry. But literally the only way she will fall asleep is if I lay with her. But I don’t want to create that habit. I’ve tried rocking her to sleep but she wakes up immediately and freaks out again. She won’t sleep in our bed because she thinks it’s a jungle gym. I just don’t know why else to do to get her to not scream for hours. We haven’t changed our bedtime routine at all for the past 2 years. I’m at a loss.

My son has been having a hard time going down for bed the last week. I wasn’t sure but thought his issue was that he knows his sibling is coming soon as I’m almost 37 weeks pregnant. Your little one could be having some form of separation anxiety. The only way I found helped get my boy to get back on routine is to lay with him for a few minutes and then say mommy has to go do XYZ and I’ll be back up to check on you in a little bit. He drinks his water and I’ll put on his favorite show and he goes to sleep.
