@Alyssa omg, that is exactly what I’m doing now! I’m laying on the bed with him and he just dosed off. He still startles himself a bit. But hoping if I lay here he will sleep a bit. Cause then he gets really fussy if he doesn’t sleep enough 😩
Same thing my daughter is doing. I have noticed that for the second nap of the day, if she naps in my carrier while I sit on the rocking chair, she can even go to 2h of sleep, because I just rock her a bit if she startles.
My little is just about 10 weeks and I’ve noticed that he loves to fight his day naps. The only thing working for us is straight contact naps. If we’re willing to sit for 1 hour he sleeps 1 hour, if we sit for 2 he will sleep for 2.. it’s not ideal but I also know it wont last forever so we are just going with it
My little one is like this! During his second nap of the day (which is his longest) he sleeps x10 better on me cx
Sleep regression can start as early as 3-4 mths. Mine is 7 mths and will only nap twice a day now. 3-4 mths she sleeped 12 hours at night and naps were less than 45 mins vs 2 hr naps
Short naps at this age can be quite normal especially if they are napping independently. Will your baby sleep longer if being held, worn in a carrier, snuggling with you on a bed, pushed in a stroller, so on?
My 3 month old (now 4m) did this, and then he woke up one day and rolled, it did some research about it and it could be a leap or begging of a sleep regression. Just means baby is developing and learning. The only thing that helped my son was laying in bed with him when he napped. I didn’t fall asleep but I think he needed the comfort of knowing I was there to help him stay asleep
