Is this normal?
My almost 3 years old son had his first Christmas nativity at nursery yesterday , but before he even started, he had a big tantrum and refused to be dressed up and join singing together with his friends.

Yep. We went to my sons Xmas concert he clung to me the whole time and didn’t participate. It’s overwhelming for them and with all the parents etc aswell being there it can be a bit much.
Yes it’s abit young to be preforming, it’s took 6 attempts/days for my nursery to get my LG to sit at the Xmas backdrop for a Christmas photo but they got there in the end and she finally gave them a smile but I wasn’t worried if they didn’t get it, it’s a very strange daunting new concept for toddlers! they’re only just learning what Christmas is for the first time, next year they’ll remember that it’s an exciting time and they’ll be more understanding & confident

Yup completely normal. I’ve worked in a nursery for 19 years and every year it happens. It’s very over whelming for them. X
