@Nissa I’m not funnily enough! This was done purely through hand expression! I plan on formula feeding my baby however I want to give her the best chance when it comes to winter illnesses etc. my midwife told me to either use a Milton tablet or some boiling hot water and drop a bottle cap in for 10-15 minutes to sterilise it. I then basically went to town massaging each boob for 5 minutes or so whilst the cap was in the water. Took the cap out, shook off any excess water then leaned over it and went to town milking like a bloody cow 😂😂
@Chloe well done!! Oh my god I’m not sure 😂😂 could be certain levels of proteins maybe 😅🤔 might have to be a google that! Now I’m sat here wondering if mine is any good! 😂😂😂
@Billie-Jo mine looks just like yours (though I havent caught any in a syringe yet)
This is amazing well done you! I’ve been able to start earlier @ 34+4 so I wouldn’t worry too much 🙈 (with midwife and consultant - I’m now 35+3) xx
@Billie-Jo @Chloe both of your colostrums are perfect colour no need to worry about it. It's just how your body has made it and both are still usable for baby. It's the same with breast milk, you can get pink breast milk which has blood in it, blue tinted breast milk, more yellowy breast milk, green tinted, there's so many different colours and all are okay to give to baby as well xx
You don’t have to collect. You can just do your first breastfeed then go back to bottle
So are you pumping while pregnant? Please share your story I was thinking of doing this also
