Definitely! We flew to Mallorca when my daughter was 7 weeks old, and flew home when she was 9 weeks. It was an absolute breeze (she slept for 90% of our trip) and we all had a lovely time. I personally would highly recommend, but perhaps we were just lucky with having a chilled baby.
It’s the easiest trip you’ll have! You can take 2 items for baby, but if you can get a bag for car seat, pad it out with the nappies to save room!
I would always take a sling (still do, now my daughter is nearly 2!) as you are never sure when you’ll get the buggy back if you drop it at the gate as you board. Personally I would take the car seat as we have had some bad experiences with car seats we hired being old or wrong size. Give yourself lots of extra time at the airport for feeds, nappy changes and just the general new-ness of having to get through airport with a baby (you have to unpack the buggy for security and get liquid milk or food ‘tested’). If you do have the option of leaving it a couple of weeks later it might be better as they have their first set of jabs around 8 weeks. Also depending on how knackered you are - getting their passport sorted in time. Just wanted to say as have had friends miss things because they couldn’t get the baby passport in time. It will be a dreamy trip though! Baby will nap well and they will still be so small you can take them anywhere and stay out late for dinner! X
Agree with all the above advice. The sling definitely, and i also can't travel now without a large boppy cushion to go around my middle and rest baby on during the flight. The seats can be pretty uncomfortable for holding little one in your arms the whole time. We started at 10 weeks and have done many flights, he sleeps 90% of the time after feeding for takeoffs.
Thank you all so much for the advice! ❤️ feeling very excited. Good to get some preparation in! X
Hi!! I started flying with my girl when she was 8 weeks old. Do not stress about it, babies sleep so well on planes due to the white noise. You can take as much liquid onboard as you want in baby’s bag, 100ml limits don’t exist so you can take a flask of boiling water etc for formula/sterilising etc. Take extra clothes for them and YOU in case of a 💩🤢 emergency mid flight. Suction for takeoff and landing helps, feeding or a dummy. But also, a few flights my daughter refused either and nothing happened to her ear pressure. Haven’t used easyJet but most airlines check your seat in at the check in desk and your pram at the boarding ramp (unless it’s an overhead locker one and they have space onboard)
