You can go to stay & plays, they have scales there. Good for meeting others & general advice too. If worried you can call SPA (single point of access) for the HV team.
There's a check at 9-12 months and 2-2.5 years. They're not often! https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/baby/babys-development/height-weight-and-reviews/baby-reviews/
Yeah you don’t shave any more until they’re about a year. To have them weighed or checked look for your nearest children’s centre and look up local weighing clinics - there are a few in my borough for example that you can weigh self service or you can have one led by a health visitor
My daughter had a check/assesment by the health visitor when she was 2 years and 5 months. I have never seen it heard from one since and she is now 4 years 6 months
You can also use bathroom scales. I stand on there with my son then just me, then subtract the weights so I know what he weighs. I even mark him on his growth chart in his red book as I won’t see the HV now until he’s about 10 months!
You normally have your second one between 9-12 months I had my little boys 3 weeks ago when he turned 11 month old x
You should know if baby is feeding and growing well by the nappies, and general weight gain/growing (going up to the bigger age clothes). You can search any local weigh in clinics. I’ve got a weigh and play where I live as they’ve stopped the health visitor ran ones. Your next review with the health visitor will be between 9-12 months, and then between 2-2.5yrs x
Thanks everyone, this was very helpful 🥰
Call them and book a six months review This what I did
@Louma thanks I will deffo do that! Need reassurance as a first time mum x
My health visitor has come multiple times and is even coming by tomorrow (my LG is 6 months in 2 weeks) I've seen my HV at least once a month since she was born. You should have a number for the health visitor to call them & touch base and see when they will next check up
9-12 months is the next check but I attend a weigh in clinic once a month with him to get him weighed and ask any questions if I have any x
We just weigh our lo monthly ourselves, you should have times you can drop into your local family hubs or our drs have scales in the waiting rooms. We had an appointment 7 weeks, then next one is 10-12 months. Unless you’re concerned you can contact them x
I haven’t had any health visitor since my son was newborn and I called in and booked an appointment to go in Thursday to check her weight xx. He’s 7 months in two weeks xx
