If you have friends come over with older children, should you put away certain toys?

If you have climbing furniture for your little one out all the time, but other children are visiting and might be too big for it, should you put it away or leave it out? What about other toys which are for very little children?

My niece and nephew were on my kids slide and broke it off because they weighed too much to be on it. My dad was able to repair it but I was definitely annoyed. I should have told them one at a time when they first went to play but they were also both on it and hanging off the side 😒. Put things they could break away.

I wouldn’t but only because I wouldn’t have people over that can’t respect our house and might destroy stuff if that’s the worry. But if not depending on the age and size of the children they might be able to play with some of the climbing toys too. And anything my children wouldn’t want to share would go in their rooms. Or put up out of reach until guests are gone even if they were the same age.

If it was something that could break and harm them of course I would. Some kids might be too big but not realise. I would also ask my daughter what she’s happy to have out whist other kids are present and let her know other children will be playing with it x

I don't put stuff up.i have no problem saying I'm sorry but your to big for that toy please find something else to play with

Depends on what you mean by older ie preschool age but will be tempted to keep coming back or school age and old enough to know better when told. Generally no

I have a soft play set (foam) and if the older kids try and climb on it then I’ll just tell them to get off cos they’re too big

I only put toys up I know my son can’t share orrr any that I don’t want broke lol kids can be kids
