I hope this will help anyone.
Good morning, mama's. So, for a very long time, I knew my son was different. Not to compare children, but he would do things my daughter hasn't done. Even then, I had a feeling he was different. I didn't see the signs until he turned 2 years old. I was teaching him how to count and wave using his hands, and one day, I saw his hands were moving repetitively. I started to think at first he was waving, but he kept doing the same move over and over. (Among other things) I would say it happened twice a day or maybe three times a day, and then over time, it became more and more frequent, and it made me question his condition. Even the way he threw tantrums was different, which I found out later were meltdowns. I already have two cousins and a niece who range from 1 to 3 levels of ASD. I took it upon myself to look it up on Google, and I went on YouTube, and I saw signs from a four-year-old comparing the behavior to my then 2-year-old. If you feel deep down your child is autistic, go with your gut because I was told by one Doctor she couldn't diagnose him because everything was inconsistent. So I said to myself, "If she feels it's inconsistent, wouldn't that be a reason for her to perhaps diagnose him as autistic?" Right. I put my son through the CPSE evaluation, and he is approved. I got a second opinion, and before I could even open my mouth, the doctor immediately could tell my son was special. I got my answer, and my son is a level 2 non-verbal. I am happy to know that I was right and can sleep, well, whenever my son sleeps 🤣. It took a long time for me to get him evaluated, and it was very frustrating to the point I lost my hair. So, mamas, if you can help it, make sure you follow your instincts and do what you need to do for your children because listening to other people should not keep you from helping your baby and understanding that they do need extra help and need additional care.
This also happened to me I knew from early on my son was different and we faught for his diagnosis but we finally got it in September. Agree with you 100%
