@Samantha he's not constipated, he's nervous if going
Someone I know had the same thing and they took them to the doctors. Turned out they went for a poo that hurt them and was then scared to go again causing them to refuse to go for about a week. Doctors prescribed them something to help them go and then they were okay. Not sure if this helps or not
@Yasmine I was thinking the same, he's fine once he gets going but the thought of it scares him. I'll maybe try giving him a couple more prunes of the next few days and if that doesn't help I'll take him to the doctors
Mine suffers from constipation and has been on daily medication for over a year which made it incredibly difficult to get her potty trained with poo and still at 3.5 she has a little fear still. I think in your case, a one-off constipation treatment may help so he knows its totally fine to go. Will just make it easier and 🤞🏻 it will erase the fear. Maybe he has had a poo that has hurt so he's decided to not go through it again. Witholding makes it painful and it starts a cycle x
just went through constipation with my 2 year old, she was in so much pain that I had to take her to the hospital they had us give her miralax & gas drops and once she was regular we stopped as instructed but trying that for a day or two might help him out to ensure it’s soft enough
