Symptoms

Hey, I’m 10 weeks on Saturday and was just wondering what your symptoms were being plus size. I have a BMI of 33 and have had a letter come through for a consultant meeting - what do they do? I will be 12 weeks and would have already had my NHS scan. What else do they do differently with high BMI? When did you start to get a bump? This is my first 💙🌸

I noticed my tummy get rounder at about 3months, I was also consultant let it just means you may have extra scans the further on you get to check baby is growing at the rate they expect. The consultant appointments I found were always the same, they asked if I was having any signs of pre eclampsia asked how I felt within myself and discussed any medication they were putting me on

I’m currently 12 weeks. I found out at 4 weeks 🙈 I’ve had a consultant appointment. Take your first urine sample of the day (if you don’t have any of the pots you can take some when you get to your appointment for the next one) they may give you another scan just to check babies heartbeat is strong, then they just go through your notes. And will book in for your next appointment. I think I was in and out in 15 mins? For reference. I have a BMI of 46 (a uk size 22, that carries all her weight in her belly and hips) Also when you have your scans don’t be disappointed that the picture may not be very clear? Due to layers of fat our scans may look less crisp? I didn’t know this and was so sad at my 12 week scan! Plus baby was laying on their side not back so wasn’t playing game 🤣 xx
