I was initially just going for induction at 39 weeks until I had my growth scan last week. I felt I needed time to process all the information my consultant was giving me, hence why she didn’t book it at my appointment. Saw my midwife Monday and explained to her I have decided to go with a C section (she was going to put the referral in) Just don’t know now how long it takes for a date etc x
I’m consultant lead and I chose section since day one so I got my date 2 weeks ago (32 weeks) You have to sign some paperwork , once that has been done then it’s within 7 days x
So it must be different depending on hospital as for me I’m getting a phone call on the Friday before my 39 weeks to tell me.
I'm having one as placenta praevia and it's not shifting, but obstetrician said I'll find out 1-2 weeks before regarding the date
Thank you all. x
I’m also in this situation but haven’t yet decided on being induced or just going for a c-section which I am swaying towards! Can I ask why you guys opted for C-section? x
@ava I think I’m just personally super anxious about baby getting stuck during natural delivery, or I’m worried about having to have an emergency c section anyway due to size, so I thought if I opt for one at least I know! X
My son was 10lb 2 and I had him at 42 weeks naturally, which really wasn’t a pleasant experience. Initially I wanted a natural birth again but now know this baby is potentially going to be another 10lb’er. So for me, feel this is the better option x
I’ve always said from beginning I was having a c section. They booked mine after my 20 week scan x I’m now 37 weeks x
This is my 3rd C-section due to big babies and I was given my date around 30 weeks. I'm scared to give birth naturally tbh I opted for VBAC after 1st but he just didn't come so ended up having c section and they have advised 3rd c section is safer than natural.
@Victoria how’s that possible I’ve been told I have to wait for end of the year diary to end so they can open for 2025 as I’m due beginning of January and having a c section and I’m almost 36 weeks no c section date as I’m high risk
@Samia I’m not sure! Im also considered high risk. I wonder if it’s area/hospital dependent! X
@Victoria I’m also considered high risk but they’re taking the pi**
@Samia same here! High risk, nearly 38 weeks and no date 😏
I had a growth scan today (I’m 33+3), baby is measuring very large too! I have also opted for a c section at 39 weeks & she gave me a date today. I was really surprised as wasn’t expecting to have a date this early. I am also consultant led xx
